I created this smoothie while cleaning out my fridge. I had some avocados and bananas about to get tossed out and well, that was just a no can do! I also was craving some protein, so I tossed in some goodies and presto.. a yummy green smoothie. This smoothie is made in the blender so it is easy too. Don't be afraid of the kale or chard. You won't taste them, but your body will love you for it!
Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 1 avocado, peeled
- handful of kale
- handful of swiss chard
- 1 green apple, peeled and sliced ( you can also juice three apples or use 1 cup of organic apple juice depending on how sweet you want smoothie to be)
- 1/2 cup of coconut milk ( or almond)
- 2 cups of ice
- 1 cup of purified water
- purified water or organic apple juice if needed
Instructions
- Fill blender with ice and coconut milk
- Fill with all ingredients
- Blend and enjoy!
- You can adjust the thickness of the smoothie by adding more ice or less ice; you can also use organic apple juice to sweeten it or make it less thick; you can always add purified water also.
- As mentioned above, you can juice three apples or use 1 cup of organic apple juice instead of putting 1 green apple into blender. The apple juice (or even pear juice) sweetens it.
