I just love this smoothie. The kids love the berries and sweetness, yet have no idea there are so many greens in it. The avocado boosts the protein also. Don't be afraid of the kale or chard. You won't taste them, but your body will love you for it! Also, this can be made with organic blueberries instead of berry mix, and you can make it without the chard and/or kale if you don't have some. It is awesome either way. Just remember, if the berries are not frozen you need one cup of ice. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 cup of organic apple juice ( I juice 4 organic apples because the taste rocks) or acai juice
- 2 -3 cups of organic frozen berry mix (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, etc)
- 1 cup of coconut milk ( or almond)
- 1 banana
- 1 avocado, peeled
- handful of kale
- handful of swiss chard
- 2 cups of ice (only if the berries are not frozen)
- 1 cup of purified water
- purified water or organic apple juice if needed
Instructions
- Fill blender with frozen berries, apple juice, water and coconut milk
- Fill with all ingredients
- Blend and enjoy!
- You can adjust the thickness of the smoothie by adding more ice or less ice; you can also use organic apple juice to sweeten it or make it less thick; you can always add purified water also.
